Let’s catch you up really quickly on what’s been happening with the Los Angeles Lakers: they still don’t have a head coach after some extensive back-and-forth with Tyron Lue, Rajon Rondo apparently doesn’t want to come back to the team if they don’t fill that position before free agency, oh, and Jeannie Buss is being encouraged to trade LeBron James. Lakers fans are currently pretty ticked off with what’s happening in their front office and are about to take matters into their own hands – talk about #PowerToTheFans. Fans are planning a protest for this afternoon, 12pm PT at Staples Center. They have also planned for a more ‘casual’ protest for Saturday, also at 12pm PT. We’re not sure how to define the difference between a protest and a ‘casual’ protest, but we’re looking forward to finding out.
In a press release issued by Charlie Rivers, he stated “We support the Lakers Organization, but do not condone its current management. This event is to focus not on the failure to hire Tyronn Lue, in favor of Jason Kidd, but the decisions that ultimately are the responsibility of Jeannie Buss.” For the full details on the protest, visit Rivers’ post on Reddit. In the meantime, we’re going to sit back and watch this unfold while continuing to make sure our fans feel heard. This league is full of YOUR teams, and you’re in the driver’s seat when it comes to making decisions. Buckle up fans, this is going to be one hell of a ride!
