Game Changers: Jackie Robinson

On this day in 1947, Jackie Robinson made his debut in the MLB. He broke the league’s color barrier the moment he stepped onto Ebbets Field for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Despite spending a majority of his career at second base, he played at first in this monumental game. He may have gone hitless throughout the game, but his bunt in the 7th inning that the Boston Braves didn’t see coming helped lead the team to a 5-3 victory.

This man changed the sport of baseball as we know it, and paved the way for so many people looking to achieve their dreams, both on and off the field. As a group of people looking to make our own impact on the sport of football, we feel inspired by him. Of course today just about every professional baseball team will be sharing their own tribute to the legend, but we think the MLB might have hit this one out of the park:
