FAN Take is a series that highlights trending events, issues, and decisions in the world of sports and analyzes how they may or may not factor into the Fan Controlled Football League. We would love to hear your feedback, so let us know what you think about each FAN Take!
This morning it was announced Oakland Raiders veteran RB Isaiah Crowell suffered a torn Achilles tendon during a workout with the team yesterday, making his presence on the field this season essentially non-existent. This injury wipes out most of the Raiders’ backfield depth chart and give Josh Jacobs a huge workload in his rookie season. According to reports, it sounds like they will try to fill the void by bringing back Doug Martin, who filled in for Marshawn Lynch last year. There’s only one thing we know for sure: we’d hate to be their fans this season.
When it comes to off-season workouts, do you want to see your players grinding constantly? Or do you want to see them wait until they’re in official training camps with the entire team? More importantly, if your players get injured before the season even starts, are you going to be able to put faith in your back-ups? Or in a situation like this, will you put more pressure on receivers instead of relying on back-up running backs? Let us know!
