Battle of the Tigers

Well if the state of Louisiana can’t enjoy watching the New Orleans Saints in the NFL Playoffs, they can, and will, channel all that energy into celebrating the LSU Tigers bringing home a college football championship! Last night, LSU defeated Clemson (also the Tigers) 42-25. With the No. 1 and No. 3 respective teams facing off, we had hoped for a closer score until the very end, but at least we got to see some truly fantastic touchdowns throughout the night. From Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) running it in for the first score of the night to Joe Burrow (LSU) throwing a 52-yard bomb to Ja’Marr Chase, it was VERY clear why these two teams made it to the championship.

The attention wasn’t on (both) the Tigers for long though, as Odell Beckham Jr. decided to make a splash by handing cash to LSU players after they won. We get it – OBJ went to LSU and was excited to see is alma mater win the national championship, but we’re going to go out on a limb here and say that he probably violated some current NCAA rules in the process. But that’s not an issue we need to worry about at the FCFL. Why? Well, the FCFL is not the NCAA – so if our Team Owners | Fan Captains are interested in throwing some cash handshakes at the winners of the inaugural FCFL Championship, there’s nothing stopping them from doing so. If anything, we encourage the Team Owners | Fan Captains, their winning team, and their fans to do just about whatever they want when they win a championship.*

*But please don’t do anything that will get you arrested, because we’re not going to bail you out.
