It’s looking more and more likely that the Miami Dolphins will be the subject of the next season of HBO’s Hard Knocks, given that their offseason has been an absolute dumpster fire. Rookie head coach Brian Flores has already fired his offensive line coach, had one player lose an arm in an unfortunate accident, watched another player duke it out with the team’s owner in a public setting, and lost his assistant coach to health problems. So what’s next for the Dolphins? There have been rumors that they may be trading offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil for Texans’ linebacker Jadeveon Clowney – and the players of the Dolphins REALLY don’t like that idea.Per the Miami Herald, the players will “legit revolt” if the trade goes through. What does that mean exactly? We guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
We’re inclined to encourage the Miami Dolphins to get involved in a league where the fans control everything – including all roster moves. This is one topic we haven’t tackled internally at the FCFL just yet, but is there any reason why our fans wouldn’t want their players to be fans as well? Or is this too reminiscent of players betting on their own performance (a la Pete Rose)? We think at least some of the fans would welcome the athletes to join their team. What do you think fans, do you want to control your team alongside its players? Let us know!
