FAN Take is a series that highlights trending events, issues, and decisions in the world of sports and analyzes how they may or may not factor into the Fan Controlled Football League. We would love to hear your feedback, so let us know what you think about each FAN Take!

If you weren’t watching the Cincinnati Reds – Pittsburgh Pirates game last night, you really missed out. In the top of the ninth, Reds pitcher Amir Garrett had words with Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams before charging the Pittsburgh dugout in a cinematic style. The rest of his team soon followed, and an all-out brawl broke out between the two teams, including Yasiel Puig. We absolutely have to single him out here because just before the game started, he was traded to the Cleveland Indians. So, knowing that this was his last time suiting up in a Reds uniform, he had no issue jumping in and helping his team. It’s safe to say that during his short tenure with the Reds, he left a lasting impression on the fans.

While we don’t condone this kind of violence, we do love the dedication Puig showed to his teammates. We’re not asking our athletes to jump into a fight, but we do want to see loyalty prevail under the right circumstance. We’ve talked about fans’ loyalty to the team before, but what about the loyalty a player has to their teammates? Do the fans think it’s a must-have attribute for anyone they’re looking to draft? Or do they think a player’s loyalty should be to the fans, since they’re the ones calling the plays? Maybe there should be an overall loyalty to the team organization so that fans and teammates alike are valued the same?  Let us know what you think is most important!

Power To The Fans!
